Miami Wedding {Sabrina + Todd}

The newlywed Lindens’ … oh how we love them! Meet Todd and Sabrina. They are foodies, funny, fashionable, in love and most importantly, great people. We were honored to plan their wedding at Villa 221 in Miami. True to their personalities and guest experience, they had a showstopper wedding that was a party from beginning to end.

An early evening ceremony meant ambient lighting everywhere. Candles, up lights, and shadow lighting created an intimate deck at Villa 221. Comfortable chairs in ivory and silver complimented the acrylic chuppah from Ines Naftali Floral and Event Design. The floating candles and buds were stunning! Sabrina walked down the aisle to acoustic guitar player and singer Diego Val. Beautiful. The ceremony area was quickly transformed into “His” and “Hers” lounged while guests mingled inside during cocktail hour.

Enter Lounges. His lounge had white couches, a gentleman’s bar with scotch and tequila – complete with personalized shot glasses that Salute! (they were engaged in Florence, Italy), a cookies and milk station (true to the groom’s sweet tooth), and GoodFella’s projected on the wall. Her lounge hosted more white couches, a signature mojito bar, an acrylic dessert station (more to come on this), and Audrey Hepburn’s Sabrina projected on the wall. The acrylic dessert table was lit up underneath and was home to cake pops in 3 flavors, macaroons in 2 flavors, mini cupcakes in 3 flavors, red velvet donuts, a red velvet wedding cake with ruffled icing (LOVE!), and the groom’s cake – a globe with pins on the cities they have visited together. Sugarsweet Dream Cakes Company truly outdid themselves.

To allow for more “party” time, Sabrina and Todd opted for open food stations from Aaron’s Catering instead of a designated time for dinner. The space was divided into two seating areas: to the left, a row of white royal tables adorned with sweet and modern touches of purple flowers; to the right, a row of acrylic cocktail tables with floating flowers. Dancing under a crystal chandelier in the midst of two large tree’s gave a magical feel to the evening. The main bar was book ended with high back white couches allowing guests to get a drink, grab a seat and take in the evening to the sounds of the DJ.

Definitely one for the books. If you love the pictures from Daniel LaTeulade Photography, the stay tuned for the video from LaFrance Films!

The Amalfi Coast: Positano, Italy

I can’t even begin to tell you how in love I am with Positano, Italy. Pictures and words do not do it justice. It is by far one of the most beautiful villages I have ever been to. If you are thinking of a European destination wedding, honeymoon, or vacation for that matter then this is a must stop or do for you. The village of Positano is one of many clustered into the infamous Amalfi Coast. Its houses are built one on top of the other, is known for delicious olive oil and wines, incredibly soft linen, scrumptious seafood, and of course its breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea.   Small and large yachts find this port their home during the months of summer months, including those of Steven Spielberg and Tom Cruise.

Once the home to bohemians and artists seeking (and finding) artistic inspiration, Positano remains a hidden gem along the coast line. It is a short yacht ride over to Le Galli and Capri. You can spend your days walking around the village and getting to know its locals with the Discover Positano Walking Tour where Cristina guides you through its history and culture.  Taking short car, ferry, or boat rides to neighboring villages such as Sorrento, Amalfi, Capri, and Ravello to visit Limoncello farms, vineyards, or try amazing cuisine. Take a cooking class at Buca di Bacco where you will never be more proud of a dish you prepared yourself, or at least assisted in. Bask in the sun atop black sand and cool waters. Or cool off in your hotels’ rooftop pool while taking in the view from up top. I promise it will not disappoint.

The Chiesa di Santa Maria is perfect for a religious wedding ceremony and for your non-religious destination wedding ceremonies, the beaches and/or restaurants that overlook the sea and boats are more than picturesque. If a memorable wedding is what you are looking for, look no further … and we are more than happy to do the event planning for you!

Destination Wedding: Zurich, Switzerland

Meet Adrienne, a gorgeous Swiss girl on her last weekend trip abroad in Miami Beach, Florida. Meet Ghen, a dapper young man enjoying his home town of Miami Beach, Florida. Boy met Girl and they fell in love. Their initial wedding location was Miami Beach, true to where they met but not to where he proposed. During a trip back to her homeland, they decided that Zurich felt like a better match for their nuptials.

Eight months later we are transported back in time to what feels like a Medieval Castle with breathtaking views of Luxemberg atop a hill. The festivities began with a traditional Jewish wedding ceremony followed by a cocktail hour whose activities included bow and arrow shooting and private castle tours. The reception’s music was a combination of folkloric alphorns, a DJ, and a live 4 piece band. Dinner was local fresh fish with an infinite array of desserts, including chocolate of course! The royal tables were adorned with romantic single vase roses in assorted shades of pink, large modern candelabras, and laid over a bed of green vines.

It definitely felt like we went back in time … and we wish them a happily ever after…. Stay tuned for more pictures.

Sara + Jason: Cheeca Lodge Resort and Spa

Let’s rewind to 6 months ago when I had the pleasure of meeting Sara via another gorgeous bride while gown shopping. Sara had been engaged for eight months and had no desire or energy to plan this wedding. And how could she? She’s a pharmacist that works insanely long days! Loving weddings as much as I do, I was sad that she was not as excited about her wedding as she was about her fiance. Well, after our afternoon out, that changed!

Sara and Jason have the cutest TV teen show story. The cliff notes version is: Jason and Sara’s brother have been best friends since grade school. Sara had the biggest crush on Jason growing up but he was her brothers BFF so that was not happening. Fast forward into young adult hood and the sparks started flying! Jason proposed at her family’s lake house in upstate NY – the same exact spot her great grandmother got engaged!! Now can you see why we couldn’t resist this wedding?! Their engagement dinner celebration took place at Cheeca Lodge and came full circle when their actual nuptials took place.

Cheeca Lodge is the perfect hidden gem or crown jewel as they like to call it, among the Florida Keys. A strip of white sandy beaches makes any ceremony private. The service was impeccable, food was 5 stars, and  the property is home to multiple breathtaking backdrops for the perfect wedding album. This intimate wedding of 14 guests (immediate family only) did not leave out the details just because of its size. The bouquet was to die for! Especially when placed against the deep purple convertible bridesmaid dress. Elegant ivory linens and sparkling lace runner complimented the rooms rustic ambiance. Beautiful green and purple flowers brought in just the right amount of color and the candles flames bouncing off the runner adorned the entire center of the royal table. Floral place cards made of green and purple paper (Etsy) had guests names on them and tied everything beautifully. The bride and groom toasted using Sara’s heirloom glasses!

Guests were treated to an entire weekend of laughter and memories beginning with a welcome dinner at Piers on Friday, golfing and kayaking for the men and aromatic massages for the women pre-wedding on Saturday, and of course a divine brunch before departing back to their Miami homes on Sunday. What a delightful and united family to work with!

All made possibly by: Ines Naftali Floral Design, Daniel LaTeulade Photography, Contempo Linens, Cheeca Lodge, Etsy, Medusa’s Mane.

Club Wed

ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageWe recently had the privilege to partake in the wedding of Francesca and James Covey at The Viceroy’s Club 50. Their Miami nuptials, because they also had a celebration in D.C., was the perfect blend of Miami night’s meets elegance and romance for this fantastic couple!

So how does one integrate both? Simple. The venue itself provided the ambiance of something different and killer views of the city. It was the perfect backdrop. For the ceremony, a four post arch was created and covered with white flowers framing the couple with natural and effortless elegance. The beautiful sounds of a string quartet entertained guests as they awaited the processional. And the brides bouquet? Entirely Anemone’s thanks to Ines Naftali …. Gor-geous!

At the reception, guests were greeted with city chic tablescapes, views of the sun setting, and a delicious meal. Tables were adorned with steel grey linens that were modern and a great neutral against the blue’s and green’s of the club. Silver chiavari chairs with navy chair pads from Contempo Linens dressed up the tables instantly. Cue the flowers! This is where the elegance and romance came into the picture. Ines Naftali Floral and Event Design did an amazing job by bringing in soft lilies of the valley (the bride’s favorite! which also complimented her Vera Wang gown), ivory roses, white hydrangeas, and touches of cascading green florals all mounted on a combination of either sterling silver candelabras or mirror vases to break up the room.

Wedding bands were custom made by Ring Finger Studio. Take a look for yourself with these beautiful images from Hera Studios!

Fort Lauderdale Venue Tour!

We had the most amazing venue tour this weekend! All guests were greeted with a mimosa upon arrival at the Ready? Set. Wed! store. Our fabulous caterer, TOSS Catering, brought our guests a breakfast box complete with your choice of Bacon or Spinach Quiche, a tangerine, chocolate croissant, and box of OJ. Some of us indulged on site and others took it to go on the 5-Star Limos black limo.

Our first stop was at the B Ocean Hotel in Fort Lauderdale. A delightful little bistro for brunch, cool environment, and spectacular views from their ballrooms showcased this boutique hotel. The Hilton Fort Lauderdale greeted us with a five star lunch in their stunning penthouse suite. Chef Nicole prepared a mouthwatering salmon over a bed of greens and watercress followed by a succulent blackberry dessert. We washed it down with Bellini’s of course! Up next, the W Hotel.

Have you ever wondered what the W stands for? Well our guests did and they asked. The fabulous team at the W answered without hesitation. It appears that when the hotel was first toured, everyone thought the hotel was Wonderful, Whimsical, had a Wow factor, etc … to encompass it all, they named it W! This hotel is a must see … they thought of every detail! A staircase that goes through the WET pool, a helipad looking outdoor function area, your choice of ocean view studios (ballrooms) or a modern enclosed ballroom with built in lounge benches, or how about their steakhouse? AH-MA-ZING! We were greeted at the Steak 954 by staff members in line holding more delectable goodies … a five layer frozen chocolate cake and Lotus drinks. Exquisite.

Last but certainly not least, the Westin Fort Lauderdale embraced us with champagne, bridal cookies, and adorable bride and groom chocolate covered strawberries. They too have a great ballroom with aqua blue oceanic views equipped with lounge furniture for an uber cool setting. One of their many stations is the infamous Smash station. An array of fruit to choose from gets paired with your favorite liquor! A must try.

Take a sneak peak at our day with amazing photos from NEOART Photography below! Thanks Twenty7 Events for planning it!

Tips and More …

We know you’re out and about mingling, attending BBQ’s, pool parties and vacations so we thought to make your summer a little easier, we would provide you with the lowdown without taking up much of your precious summer hours. So sip your refreshing drink away as you learn useful tips and more from our preferred experts!

Music – Picking the perfect song for you to walk down to is our number one asked question. I always recommend thinking about the ambiance of the ceremony that you are trying to produce. Will you be keeping it more on the traditional side or something a little more contemporary? Once you have that set, go through your iTunes playlist and listen to different samples until you find the perfect song. How do you know that you found the song? It is usually a song that prompts an immediate smile or a moment of “that’s the one” should occur and you’ll know you found the perfect song to walk down to your fiancé. – Alan Andai, www.aamusicians.com

Flowers – Come prepared with information to receive a more concise proposal for your wedding flowers: a) The size and detail of your bridal party (number of bridesmaids, groomsmen, etc.); b) Approximate number of tables for dinner; c) Decisions on escort table, gift table and cake table; d) Color theme or linen choices; e) any restrictions for ceremony and reception venues.

Budget: Setting a cap on your floral budget can avoid unnecessary back and forth between you and your florist in finalizing your proposal.

Sample: It would be a smart move to schedule a reception centerpiece sample in conjunction with your menu tasting – and set up the table to include the linens, tableware and centerpiece in order to see a cohesive look as close to what you will be seeing on your actual wedding day.

Trends: Bolder statements in color and design are making its way into reception tabletops.  Black and white stripes, textured tablecloths, a mix of high and low arrangements and clusters of glass elements featuring clean accents of flowers give off a more sophisticated and contemporary flair to the occasion.  Modern brides are not afraid to make their own mark. – Touch of Paradise, www.touchofparadise.com

Photography – “Hi, my name is Bride and I would like you to send me your wedding packages.”  Sounds familiar?  In my opinion “Packages” are convenient yet impersonal and may offer you components you don’t need/ want.  They can be out of budget and discourage you from calling back a caterer who you really wanted or that be the right fit for you.  Schedule meetings with different caterers to discuss your likes and dislikes, must haves and those things you don’t care for your reception.  Customizing your menu can be a way to having your wedding with in your budget.  – Fernando J. Asencio, www.tosscatering.com

Wedding Dresses – Develop a big picture, general idea of what you like best in a wedding dress. You can do this by looking through bride magazines and at online shops.  Why do this? It will help you narrow down the extensive selection of wedding dress.  – Francesca T. Maestrales, www.nuovavitaonline.com

Bringing Back Andy Warhol

With our “think outside the box” hats on, we recently decided to add a little flare, if you will, to one of the networking socials we planned in Delray Beach, Florida. The Loft at Congress has bright red, blue, and yellow walls accented with Warhol quotes, Marilyn Monroe paintings, and NYC tributes – it was the perfect host for the theme of the evening. We accentuated the front of the Loft with white linen draped high boys from our friends at Atlas Party Rentals and floral arrangements placed on top of LED lit acrylic boxes by Ines Naftali Floral Designs. When you have a space with so much going on already, your additional decor components should be kept clean and simple.

The back of The Loft is where the sites name comes to play. It is a raw canvas space that mirrors a loft. You can leave the draping closed to wash the walls in color or open them up to unveil primary color blocks that compliment the front of the venue. We kept ours closed to light them up with LED alternating color boxes from UpLyte. The space was transformed into the Factory for all to gather, eat, and drink. Ken-Rose Catering provided us with a gourmet buffet of mouth watering, going back for seconds hors d’oeuvres.  AA musicians had their DJ play Studio 54 esque tunes, while attendees took pictures at the Warhol photobooth! So Cool! Our peeps over at Touch of Paradise decorated three “reception” tables and some high cocktail tables using mini disco balls, Campbell’s soup cans as flower vases, and Ms.Monroe herself. Check out the pictures!
